I decided to replace a .22 barrel with a .177 item. I have some spare barrels so decided to give them a bit of a polish to remove surface -rubbish-.
When cleaning up the ends of one of the barrels ( an old 24 BSA item)...

Lothar Walther barrel blanks are supplied in a multitude of variations and are produced from special barrel steel. On one end there is a chamfer, this side must be fitted into the rifle. All blanks will need to be machined specifically for your rifle.

Rifling: Manufacturing: Hammer Forged Rifling
In the last post, we studied the Button Rifling method. As was mentioned in that post, this is a method of manufacturing that is much more prevalent in the United States and was invented right in the middle of WW-II....
