#1 ISP Spartan Hunting Classic - Viewed by Owner

Behold , shooting doesn't get any better than this.

The Spartan Hunting Classic in .22 with fluted barrel , in a lovely piece of Walnut , made from scratch by our own home grown Shaun Hill.

I've had a flood of emails asking to do a piece on Pimpy ever since I've had it , but one thing after another has got in the way.
What can I say apart from this - it's the best hunting rifle I've ever had , it's not particularly heavy , so can be carried around my permission all day with ease and I'm no spring chicken .

Shot count isn't particularly high , I've not tried it over thirty shots , but the power of that 30th shot is enough to bring down a rabbit.

Game taken down with this fine rifle so far are rabbits ,wood pigeon, squirrel, crow, all dispatched cleanly and with no fuss.

So let's get down to build quality, well it's superb , I didn't think it would of been anything less, as if had a couple of Shaun's other rifles.

This particular Spartan Classic has a fluted barrel , and some lovely engraving and brass work.

Cocking is precise , easy to use , with no drama at all , I'm using JSB pellets at the moment as preferred pellet , but I have tried the Sniper with excellent results on target .
Scope of choice is the MTC Viper the bigger of the two , it works very well indeed with the rifle , to be honest I don't think it really needs the two wide scope mounts , I would probably get away with one .

Hi,

Couldn't agree more to the above review.

I have number 3 which is actually number 2.

Love it to bits.

My Spartan Hunting Classic has the fluted barrel but not the moderator thread which I regret now.

I also would like to change the buttpad to London Orange.

Apart from that she is perfect!

Thanks Shaun.

I'll take some proper photos ASAP.

Nice one Grahamcs ...shame your pics look like cow manure  ;)

I think Jon also has wretched photgraphic skills as well...his camera lenses is always fogged up or out of focus pics...that coming ironically from a glass & scope guru

Runs in the blood admin, no ones good at everything.

Auto focus for me, looks alright when click but comes out totally different Nikon P5100.
If a jobs worth doing, do it right or not at all.
