UK Agent: http://www.vikingshoot.com/latest-news/ ... ld-optics/

Viking Arms Ltd is delighted to announce they have partnered with well-known optics manufacturer Leupold & Stevens to distribute their line of high performance optics in both the UK Tactical and Sporting markets. The Leupold line will perfectly complement Viking’s existing portfolio of Optics and Firearms.

Andy Gann, Sales Director at Viking Arms said ‘‘We are proud to be partnering with Leupold and Stevens Inc. The Leupold product perfectly complements Viking’s existing portfolio of optics and firearms. We are excited to introduce some of the new innovations being released from Leupold, such as the VX-6 Illuminated Reticle Scopes. I’m certain that the combination of the product quality and customer support offered by Viking, will prove to be a very successful one’’.

No pricing in UK as yet..and REMEMBER - the scope needs to be re-parallaxed from 100 yards to 10 by Leupold before you take delivery...

Had a quick look yesterday, seems quite repeatable like my old VX3 and Mark 4.

The way I would describe it is like a variable zoom Comp Series with the extra bulk of going 34mm for no reason except more elevation adjustment for F Class.

Having used a VX3 for 6 years I sensed straight away its dislike for blue light, that 55 yard can come in 48 yards where 2 yards out is a miss.

Here's the major problem even discounted its only 42 mag, is it 42 mag? My old 20-50 was 45 mag same as BSA/Nikko and some producers tend to over exagerate actual magnifications rounding them up. Either way too dear for UK market infiltrating March, Sightron SV, Kahles, S&B PM2 pricing territory all with far greater mag and optics.

The problem with refocussing is the scope may or may not perform dependant upon each assembled scope. Not seen a producer yet certainly Leupold and March where two scopes are the same either optically or the way it works.

Seen dozens where they work better to infinity or a bit less, equally seen and done dozens where they work better to top out at 58 yards - the 10 yard is irrelevant, each user has to set the scope to liking that he or she can only do, not producer.

UK RRP is £2850 and would anticipate shops selling £2400-2500, substantially dearer than the better Kahles K1050FT and March 10-60 Tacticals no contest needs to be £1600 top whack £1700 UK. Then theres always that if I paid £500 more i could have a March far superior in mag and unrivalled resolution.
If a jobs worth doing, do it right or not at all.
