Google translate German > English

"For sale comes a barrel of Lothar Walther with polygon profil & choke for 4.5mm caliber pressure guns. Data about the barrel diameter 16mm, length 55 cm (like the originals of Steyr), swirl length 450 mm (1 to 17.7 "), standard thread ½" x20 UNF (15 mm long).

The barrel was for my LG 110, it fits also in the LG 100 the predecessor and also in the new Steyr Challenge. The LG I have at the beginning of the year selling the barrel is still over and is now going away. The advantages of the polygon profile for the classic train / field are that the diabolo is not as badly "damaged" as it is by running. Which in turn has a positive effect on the outside ballistics, which means that they are less vulnerable to winds.

The chop is, however, they are very elective in the choice of the diabolos. This one is best with JSB Exact Heavy 4.52 mm, also honestly nothing else tried since you convinced me. On 50 m indoor were placed with the Steyr (7,5J) 20er groups around 15 -20 mm feasible Diabolos directly from the can nix sorted. If stop on the marksman's potential is there from the run.

The barrel is Cerakote coated in silver however ne bad color selection. Has some scratches from the bearing on the surface should be re-made some times. This costs between 50 and 60 €. A few pressure points from the clamping in the lathe are unfortunately also available. I can send more pictures by email. I will ship EU wide on request shipping charges are correspondingly higher. "

Is that a ring 1mm+ surrounding the crowning?

Or just a score mark coincidentally at 8mm diameter?

Polygon never been any good for sub 12ft/lb but recall can be ok for high velocities.

Would also question why its been cerakoted before machining.

"yes it is a .177/4,5mm. Yes Picture Nr:2 looks a bit strange and the bore larger as it is bad camera angle"

Sent more questions on provenance - ie: original invoice to prove It's a 4.5mm LW barrel ; am still not entirely convinced, but let's see what the explanation for Cerakoate is as well...

PS: Had & have no intention of buying this for myself...call this an excercise to discover more about a product & sharing the knowledge ;)
