I used to ask the guru to polish some of his alu for my custom orders ....and he used to "No !" - bead blast or natural alu were only options aeons ago...
..Now, of course, It really BLINGS up in photos when alu is polished up - so me wonders if Jon does the blinging as the penny dropped....or is the customer doing the polish up to mirror finish, after getting their kit back from the Guru Goat (Mmm...new nickname "Guru Goat" or "Goat Guru" rings nice )
Now the alu on the Fwb800 has more polish - and less so on the Ans. 9015
NB: Martin, from time to time- can you zoom into your camera pic shot, (cropping out shooter) to show the kit in full glory ?

Polishing/shiny was a thing of the 60's, 70's, Austin Allegro and Princess springs to mind. 80's and 90's it was the rage on air rifles, anyone with minimal equipment in shed can polish for no outlay, its had its day. What they cant do is a pro finish.
Normal dovetail rails ok to mop polish with ease, picatinny and holes or cut outs are another entity without rounded the edges off then have the dissatisfaction of scraping soap out of every crevice.
All my stuff to 1999 was mop polished and still own a 1994 TX Mark1 that took 2 1/2 days with 3hp 10" mop - impeccable 95% reflection you will not get anyone any where to achieve.
You've had rails years ago mop polished admin, in fact had an early 2011 adjustable tilt P70 barrel mounted picatinny rail about the time some bright spark started making normal dovetail ones.

If a jobs worth doing, do it right or not at all.

Sorry for late reply on this thread
Yes, this is the only rail ever polished by you...an amazing set up !
NB: I still need to send you this barrel back to have it replaced; for our readers - its a shite claimed "BSA" barrel that Jon will attest has the liner insert... this rod of steel is scrap and not worth a shiny new £1 coin
