#1 Titanium tube conversion

Sun Apr 01, 2012 1:15 pm

Hello again.
Just finished this little job.
Its a Ti' conversion for a BSA R10

Pressure test rig goes up to 100,000 psi. Ive destroyed a few tubes just to satisfy my own curiosity. I got a few standard tubes to explode at some point in the future just to get a comparison.

I'll be ordering a bunch of tube soon to do a HW100 conversion to get rid of them heavy stainless thing they come with.

Later all.

Sean.

First stop is operating pressure.

This is the highest it could possibly be filled with a divers bottle.

Here's the 350 bar proof pressure.

20 Mins later and no noticable drop.

Yeah it worked out quite well.
The neck of the tube is same as a buddy bottle so i had to assume the stock was sculptured to fit. So i just made ths tube fit in the "shadow" of a 280cc bottle.
Ive still got it coupled to the rig so al take a few measurements before and after pressurisation and get some pics of the vernier to post.
