which suggest mechanics are different per what Matt alluded to on an earlier post. Good news, is BR still minimum parallax / focus at 8m , and beyond...

OK, totally NOT an FT reticle ....Mmm...

and at USD$2450 / GBP£ 1558 ...and Kahles only charging Euro 300 to change the reticle over to FT ... I seriously have to consider this on my ny next trip to USA

For someone who doesn't compete at FT, it'll do, for someone who shoots Ft there is not enough windage marks available for those who use them and for those that don't the thick lines will be too thick to see the pellet land - just my thoughts.

Shot the scope again at Tawd Vale yesterday, GP2, it performed faultlessly, all the misses were on the horizontal, the illuminator illuminated the ret on the one target that I needed it to and the windage lines were perfect - I used all of them at one point or another during the morning session.

Still not found any issues with the scope so far, maybe I need to pass it to someone who knows what they're talking about?

Finished on a 36ex50, top scope in the morning was a 37 by Jack Harris. Come the afternoon there were two tied on the top score of 41ex50 Dan Eley and Keith Gilyard which pushed me to joint fourth overall so not too bad.

there is a way ...not totally scientific, but after several trials by leaving a thermometer in oven...can be done in steps...

ie: leave scope at 50F , then increase to 75F, and finally at 100F (body temp is only 37 C ; so we're not talking Saudi Arabia desert heat conditions)

1 hour at each point...

3 hours in, remove, quick fit on rifle, take several shots...& compare to same card 4 hours before hand on benchrest...

So, test bake at 100F = only 37.5 Celcius


compared to 22 C or whatever from temperature of day in your house.


The key is to control each step as much as possible...

Well, it certainly would work, but am I prepared to take a brand new £1900 scope and shove it in the oven....erm, I think I'll wait for a sunny day thanks.

In my very limited experience, it is not necessarily heat that affects scopes, but direct sunlight on them. Since suffering the most awful range finding problems with my favourite Leup EFR, I have ever since thrown a jacket or hoody or something over my scope (whichever model I am using) between lanes on hot sunny days.
