"This makes my blood boil and proves a real need for proper field target organisations to get a grip on the “brand”, rules and name."

AGREED. Not being contentious either, if I'll say "Disneyland, Mickey Mouse, cotton candy & sugared popcorn" ;)

Its USA rules long before any WFTA came about with just three countries England, Norway and USA.
Luckily theres an ever increasing few that steered away from this ingrained mold several years ago but still widely shown as the right thing to do.

Going back 17 years ago high power 900ft/sec+ with heavies meant they only had three diallings to 55 yards and no wind like us shooting to 35 yards = gimmees. Hardly FT which was intended to be about wind and trajectory.
Back then I used to take the P calling it bondage gear which in effect with high velocity its just a mere BR FT.

Last time England held the Worlds 2005, the only US attendee was an old lad that came to see Mick Dawes. Two years later 2007 was the last time high power was allowed in a Worlds FT comp notably US as the laws were changing for 2008 meant no high power. Our lads as normal shooting sub 12ft/lb think ended up a close 2nd or 3rd with no strap ons.
If a jobs worth doing, do it right or not at all.
