#1 Buying Scopes in USA - paperwork process

Sun Mar 12, 2017 2:34 pm

been asked by Private Messaging...

Easy peasy - Assuming you pre planned a holiday/ bussiness trip to USA , the reseller shop initiates and gets this form to you, with your details pre-filled and you 'electronically' sign it; the reseller also electronically signs it...and off it goes to get approved off by the US Dept. of Commerce / Bureau of Industry and Security.

You do nothing, just wait for the scope shop to update you.

Hence, best liaise weeks/month ahead before your USA holiday.

This is the form: https://www.bis.doc.gov/index.php/forms ... haser/file (you dont fill this out- the shop does, so be ready to scan and send your passport copy; box 2 A is ticked by the shop - all else is left blank)

This is the website FYI: https://www.bis.doc.gov/index.php/compo ... -bis-forms

PS: anyone in UK quote you "ITAR" and US prohibited item etc... - they're talking foul smelling Brussel Sprout gas from their gob ; just ask them what's the procedure and are all scopes on 'restricted/banned/prohibited' list ? watch their face...priceless reaction them numpties...
