#1 Lilja air rifle barrel - .177

Thu Sep 22, 2016 12:17 pm

HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA HOW these .177 barrels perform at 10m or 50m.

HOWEVER - this is impressive > http://riflebarrels.com/winners-world-records/

And If anyone in UK is interested in GROUP BUY - let's band together and co-mingle 1 order...

READ this: http://riflebarrels.com/support/exporting/

and here: http://riflebarrels.com/importers/

I have spoken to Callum at Precision Rifles (Scotland) and emailed him to get pricing and all tech specs. on the .177 barrels....and if Lilja can provide some evidence on the performance of the barrels (from customers at whatever discipline - 10m or bench rest at 50m) that would be appreciated...

Used to do work for Callum years ago he knows how to charge.

The BR boys are not impressed by them.
A barrels as accurate as you make it though haven't had opportunity or time to try a regarded written of scrap barrel. Proved it several times last time 13 months ago where my own grouped 39mm at 30 yards - scrap barrel 99.9% would say. Rework the scrap barrel. 30 shots later same pellets printing sub .22 holes at 51 yards.

One of the best barrels came across was off a Chinese B10-45 complete with Chinese file marks up the rifling.
If a jobs worth doing, do it right or not at all.

...was trying to get more info. - not really forthcoming except repetition of what is already on website.

No call back or email from Callum :( ; tried direct. Same info. repeated per website in email :|

...besides Jon is right - and after doing more research on BenchRest forum - not impressed...and seeing that Thomas BR & RAW did amazingly well at 2016 BR Nationals...tells you sufficient.

So forgive us , as Cz , Walther probably still stand as the best barrel makers for .177/4.5mm at this moment in time.

and recent for sale 2nd hand: http://www.network54.com/Forum/79574/me ... +Air+Gauge

"Lilja 16mm od 1:24 twist barrel. Will include a swing breach for a USFT that has the o-ring on the breach (Gen II swing breach). This barrel does not have an o-ring on the breach end. $350 shipped CONUS."

from new: USD$425 http://www.mac1airgunshop.com/product-p/lilbr17.htm

"This barrel is the best From Dan Lilja in AG barrels. The rear 6" of this barrel are cut down to around .630". American made Stainless Steel with 1 in 24 Twist Rate. If you wish to play with the Big Dogs you need to go with the good barrels or hope you find the 1 in a 100 barrels made to production standards that winds up exceptional. American barrel makers are the best in the world and we now have a number of them trying their luck in the AG arena. That is a very healthy thing for AG BR and AG accuracy nuts in general."

What you have to remember is these boys are shooting heavies 10gr+ at 900ft/sec a far cry from 8.4gr at 785 ft/sec.
You would have to check out what what they are using .177 sub 12ft/lb. To name a few Anchutz new ok 100 yards Brian will confirm, Lothar Walthers of various specs and CZ.
If a jobs worth doing, do it right or not at all.
