:o

Congrats Darron...Nice touch having the "JH" initials - no way can anyone mistake that Power Pimp for a forgery :!:

The laminate looks raw & a tad unfinished...will you oil or lacquer varnish it ?

This is no doubt a keeper ... you can take it to the Bank and let it appreciate $$$$

---

Jon, well done on doing your own stock Mr. GURU !

I bet there is no POI come hot or cold...

Lovely Black is Black look...a Venomous Mamba indeed...

the laminate is still in its raw condition because we may still have to make some alterations, the truth is i need to shoot a few more courses before i can say to Jon "thats it mate" lets just finish it as it is. Im thinking im going to go for a hi gloss varnish type finish at the moment.

Way out to the side, unnatural, too low and too easy to do. Two wrongs don't make a right.

Since the inception of shooting with crossbows 600 years ago new recruits were taught for good reason "point finger where intend to aim"
No one likes driving a car with offset pedals, seat or steering wheel, same thing.

I am no stocker since about 2002 but a fair idea what makes them tick.
Heres the original idea of adjustable cast off stocks from 1996, 15 years before Feinwerkbau with P800X. Can only see part of it, looks weird. Theres also a second one done in 1998 around some where last seen at Redferns GP in 2008 done for an ISP in a bland walnut have no piccies.

Feasable may have picky on an old drive as deleted some years back to make room on picturetrail. Could be on photobucket I have no access to for months trying to sell me space, just greeted with blank pages and constant adverts despite popup blocker.

OK, found a few pics

"pimpmyairgun - OK, now we see how that grip is quite simply like...bolted on in that manner...interesting to know about handling & balance..."

"darronhillier - The grip is indeed bolted on like any other however Jon will confirm this was one of the most complex areas of the build due to the adjustment required and lack of fixing points due to the thumb up requirements. So far the balance feels perfect with the feeling of weight being well back almost under your chest when standing. In the seated position the rig feels incredibly solid and stable"

In all fairness I wouldn't do another, it drove me round the bend figuring stuff out.

It will always look weird perhaps ugly, but in my fashion performance first takes priority.

Two areas that were extremely difficult the grip fixing and initially offsetting the pivot points from centre line together with length to get cheek and butt adjuster in.
I was more worried at first with clearance at the wrist considering I needed to bring rear over at a start point 41mm plus any adjustable cast off.
Wreckers done the easy way mounted 2" to the right off a thick plate so finger don't line up, thumb down side of the right side of stock. Matts 5 years ago much the same and present one fighting it all the way.

Having it back around 27th to finish off.

to a certain extent , this comes to mind: https://www.airrifle.co.za/threads/2260 ... Alu-colour

However, your solution is totally original Jon...and indeed a major headache busting conundrum that you somehow managed to solve...

Kudos
