I agree that it doesn't look nice with this bent valve return spring. But its caused by this action being milled open so the support for the spring guide is missing on one side. In a complete rifle this bending of the spring would not happen.

Nice picture though, you can clearly see how much space there is for more regulated air volume when the valve chamber is bored deeper, to get it to 16 Joule.

In the new 9015HP field target rifle Anschutz has only mounted a slightly heavier hammer (+1.4 gram) and created only 0.3 cm3 extra air volume by grooving the regulator. Then Anschutz screwed on the regulator to set it from 68 to 90 Bar output pressure. And then you get a 9015HP that makes only 14,5 Joule maximum. See here for details ( http://shooting-the-breeze.com/threads/ ... ces.40171/ ).
Jon Harris does a much better job creating extra regged volume (and some more tweeks), making the 8002, 9003 and 9015 shoot a real 12fpe/16joule at 68 bar reg pressure.

(looking at the colour of the bolt head and the size and colour of the barrel shroud this is a 9003 S2 rifle. But there is no difference with the 9015 apart from the colour and barrel shroud which is now stainless steel and 18mm outer diameter instead of aluminum and 20mm dia)

Seen all the first 7 HP One that came in to the country by June last year.

6 wasn't allowed to alter to retain German warranty. First is still working and leaps and bounds better than the other six seen but did come set at 116 bar reg pressure. Far cry from a supposed 90bar.

As they say a little knowledge is dangerous and why I refuse to go on that link. HP hammer is not heavier its the same hammer used across the range dependant upon assembly date. Apart from the HP seen 4 to date on 10M rifles where they listened to what I told them Feb 2017.

Reason its heavier purely its a one piece hammer now and not in three pieces as before! = easier to make and cheaper. Tell tale sign they're black/grey unfinished after hardening.

Spring guide above best junked any way with the Steyr valve and valve.
Spring guide and spring on it a real sloppy fit and would do exactly that in a non cutout action.
If a jobs worth doing, do it right or not at all.
