#1 Steyr Hunting 5 - bipod?

Tue Apr 25, 2017 12:00 pm

Hello,

Anyone here ever attached a bipod to the Steyr Hunting 5 platform?

I have the H5A Scout and Atlas 3.35" rail here, but I'm a little concerned about where to drill.

Please share some pictures if you have! :)

Hello mate...

I dont own this gun, but if I did, Ive already worked out that I would have this done by a competent wood worker, carpenter or stock maker that'll do a super clean pro job....

What am I talking about ?

Fit an - Anschutz UIT rail

If you do Google pic search, you will find long and short ones...and you can decide what type of bipod, or other attachments as well...

Sorry I missed your point - you have an Atlas 3.35" rail

OK, well...I guess more pics of rifles with this attached will give you a clue for the sweet sport where to drill

Thank you AdminMASTER!

The idea were to have my gunsmith do the drilling and fitting, but I would appreciate if anyone that has done the same with their Hunting 5 would share their experience.

The wood seems rather thin up front right behind the schnabel.

Just finished up the first coat of oil and rubbing, think it will look great after another dozen or so! :)

Nice Steyr 5A

That would be the semi auto right ?

Hankering after one of these...for the country house in France where semi auto is a non issue

Thanks! Yes it's the semi auto version, currently shooting the 13.43 gr JSB Monsters @ 730 fps. Getting 90 consistent shots from a 200 bar fill. The regulator works like intended, even at rapid fire.

Everyone should have one of these, very fun and shoots true!

3x5 shots at 35 meters, patches are 20 mm in diameter.

Standing on one foot balancing on a football.

Joking aside, shoot the groups from a cheap MTM rest.
