#1 Gary Cane - Steyr Hunting 5 Auto Scout, links

Fri Aug 18, 2017 2:20 pm

The postman showed up with a long awaited box from the UK today.

A huge THANK YOU to Gary Cane for making me this absolutely stunning piece for my beloved Steyr H5A 4.5mm FAC.

First impressions? I'm blown away by it and almost speechless, the quick cell-phone pictures does not do it justice at all! Oh, and it fits me like a glove :D

Thank you admin! :D Yes, it looks and feels amazing!

I'm waiting on a March 3-24x42 from the good people over at March Scopes Europe in the UK. Did not want the illumination this time, so there is a 3 months waiting time. Having a second-hand Bushnell 2-16x42 on its way as a substitute until it gets here.

Yes, they do make a left handed one!
My first H5A were a left handed action, but I actually find the right handed one easier to use from the bench.

Yummy !

Pic #4 looks best when the sunlight is hitting the length of stock... you must be so chuffed ...how has she been ? up to expectations ? how far have you shot her & what's accuracy like ? ... and how many tins have you gone through ?

PS: Maker of bipod is ... ?

After looking through the pictures again I see that I have some room for improvement, but I still had to share some pictures of it all kitted up.

Sadly I have not been shooting it as much as I would like to. Between family, studies and work I have tended to favor my MTB over the Steyr lately. That said it's been up to expectations! Around 2k pellets, not a single hick-up or issue for now, crossing my fingers it'll stay that way. At 50 meters a ragged hole seems to be the norm.

Accu-Tac Sr5 QD bipod.
