Orange and black is my all time favourite colour combo.

Why Why WHY won't Walther make an FT / 16J version of that rifle?

Why won't Walther make an FT rifle: Because the bloody Tommies scared them with their plenty comments on the LG300 Dominator. Not to forget all the "tuning" that these guys deemed necessary to perform on this beautiful piece of German worksmanship :x . All this left Walther thinking they can't do a decent FT rifle. So they wont. You cannot say this company did not listen to their customers ;) ;)

But serious: I heard Walther staff saying they are giving it a thought.
One reason being: They don't like to have "converted" rifles around with their name on it and also the F in the pentagon sign (the < 7,5 joule sign under German law) while the real energy is much higher (16 Joule/12fpe or above). They think this may cause them trouble.
I mentioned the low number of Dominators sold (they only sold about 875 Dominators in about 15 years) as a probable reason not to produce an FT rifle. The guy said the low sales volume is not the problem. As an example he told me they sell only a few 50m Free Pistols ( http://carl-walther.de/cw.php?lang=de&c ... roduct=667 ) over the years and still developed a new one (the FP60). He sighed: If our engineers only had more time........ there would be a LG400 FT.
So send Walther a message asking for a black and orange LG400-FieldTarget and who knows what might happen. (http://carl-walther.de/cw.php?lang=en&content=contacts )

I loved my LG300 Dominator, it was probably the rifle that suited me best out of the many rifles I owned / shot / tested. I have to confess that by the time I sold it it had a Trowmans Ti air tube, a carbon barrel shroud and alloy muzzle brake, but really that was mostly pimping.

I can absolutely understand that Walther don't like people messing with the rifles, but lets face it, this whole web site is testament to what some owners like to do with their rifles. I bet Air Arms hate the fact that so many people are already messing with the FTP900, but at the same time, they are happy to take the credit for Vince Holland winning the World HFT Championship last month. Same with Ian Taylor and the World FT Championship win with his EV2.... in a custom stock. It is the nature of the beast, lots of people own bog standard rifles, but some don't.

I will e-mail Walther, as if they could make the LG400 as good, if not a touch better than the LG300, then I would definitely consider buying one.

How strange , this is the way Jon Harris was going to go with a FWB conversion for me , he experimented with some coatings in orange and grey.
The two colours work really well together.
This rifle looks fantastic.
Like some others I cant find the part on there web site where you can choose your colour , or does that come up in the ordering process.
